Babcock Boulevard and Cumberland Road Intersection Improvements

Trans Associates was retained as a prime consultant to study the corridor and recommend a design that incorporates the necessary improvements to relieve delays and congestion.  The firm designed the roadway improvements and modified the signalization of the subject intersection in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) for their construction implementation.

Trans Associates was responsible for preliminary and final design of widening Babcock Boulevard to accommodate left turn lanes, center turn lane and improvement intersections turning radii.  The project included the complete replacement of the existing traffic signal and the relocation of the primary access to North Hills Passavant Hospital.  The firm assisted McCandless in securing the required right-of-way and prepared right-of-way plans for dedication to PennDOT.
